Peach Cobbler With Cake Mix
Did you know you can make a delicious peach cobbler with only cake mix, canned peaches, and butter? That’s right – you can enjoy your favorite comfort dessert with only three ingredients and 30 minutes of your time.
I always keep a can of peaches and white cake mix so I can make this dessert for my unexpected guests or whenever I need to satisfy my cravings for something sweet.
Besides the ingredients listed, you do not need anything else. It is time that I share my favorite and easiest recipe for peach cobbler.
Ingredients needed
Only three ingredients and 30 minutes of your time are separating you from something amazing.
Here is why these are used:
- Canned peaches; This dessert is all about peaches, and we need them for fruitiness. You can choose from canned peaches in syrup or canned peaches in fruit juice. You must use some type of liquid, as the liquid will be soaked up and turned into a thick cobbler-type sauce as you usually prepare this type of recipe. Even fresh peaches will work here if you do not mind extra labor. If you are using fresh peaches, add a splash of fruit juice to the first layer.
- Cake mix; I always make this with white cake mix. You can try the spiced cake mix too, as spices like cinnamon and nutmeg perfectly pair with peaches.
- Butter; Besides juice, the butter will keep the cobbler moist. Since you are only using three ingredients, you will want to invest in real butter and not margarine. Using margarine would remove the rich flavor and luxurious texture. I like to use salted butter because I find a touch of saltiness complements the otherwise sweet flavors, but unsalted butter would also be fine.
Making The Cobbler (Overview)
How difficult can a 3-ingredient cobbler be? Not hard at all, as you will see in the further text. The first thing to do is drop the peaches into the baking dish, as well as all the juices from the can.
Once the peaches are evenly distributed, you can sprinkle your cake mix over the peaches. The third step is to add butter. You can either slice the butter or drizzle it melted over the cake mix.
Just make sure it is distributed evenly. And that’s it – just bake the cobbler and then enjoy it, served warm!
How To Serve The Peach Cobbler
Whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream goes best with peach cobbler. Besides this, you can sprinkle the peach cobbler with some cinnamon and serve it like that.
The cobbler is scooped from the baking pan while still warm and served in a bowl. You can also serve it cold, but if you want to reheat it, we have an article explaining the best methods for reheating any kind of cobbler.
Is This Similar To Dump Cake?
Although both desserts are similar, dump cake is a bit different. All ingredients are just dumped into the baking dish, while with the cobbler you have a layering of the ingredients.
So, although it is similar, there are still differences between these two.
Can You Freeze This Cobbler?
I am sure you will not have this delicious peach cobbler forever, but if you have some leftovers, you can freeze them. I do suggest you freeze the cobbler in separate portions.
Place each portion in a freezer-friendly container and store it in a freezer for up to a month. To serve, thaw the peach cobbler and reheat in a microwave.
