There’s not much to differentiate the powdered almond butter brands on this list; they would all make a great addition to your pantry.
The only reason that Wegman’s gets the top slot is because they are the only organic brand on the list.
Since lots of folks are interested in purchasing organic products to support the health of the planet, I wanted to give this powdered almond butter top slot.
It’s a little more expensive than the other brands on this list, so that is something to think about.
Its first ingredient is almonds, but it is sweetened and does contain a little salt, so that is something to think about if you’re looking for a pure or unsweetened powdered almond butter.
The label doesn’t say whether the almonds that are used are roasted or blanched or raw.
Most companies will state if the almonds have been processed in some way, so it’s relatively safe to assume these almonds are raw, so the taste will be a little milder.
The company states that there is 93% less fat per serving in their product than in traditional creamy almond butter, so it is one of the brands that removes the most fat from their product.
I don’t see any information about other potential allergens, so that is something to keep in mind.
Overall, it’s a great choice for folks looking for an unflavored, but lightly sweetened powdered almond butter that meets USDA Certified Organic requirements.
2. Barney Butter Unsweetened Powdered Almond Butter
Next up we have Barney Butter’s powdered almond butter.
As the name suggests, it is unsweetened and the only ingredients are blanched almonds. So if you’re looking for a roasted flavor, this product isn’t going to be your best choice.
While it isn’t certified organic, the almonds for this product are locally grown in California. Each serving contains about 6 grams of protein, which is great.
And like the Wegman’s powdered almond butter above, there is 93% less fat per serving than there is in regular almond butter.
This brand is also great for folks who have allergies since it is peanut-free, gluten-free, soy-free, dairy-free, and egg-free.
It’s one of two brands on this list that isn’t made in a facility that also processes peanuts and other tree nuts, so if you have a peanut allergy, Barney Butter is for you.
3. PB2 Powdered Roasted Almond Butter
PB2 is one of the biggest names in the powdered nut butter scene. They were the first company to start making powdered peanut butter in Georgia.
They have since expanded into other nut butters, such as their roasted almond butter.
In 2020, they reformulated this product to deliver a stronger and better-roasted almond flavor, so it’s perfect for folks who really want to highlight that almond flavor.
The first ingredient is roasted almonds, but it does contain a small amount of sugar and salt. So if you want a product that contains only almonds, then the PB2 brand may not be the best choice.
With that said, they do have 90% less fat and only 1 gram of added sugar per serving.
In terms of allergens, although the PB2 Powdered Peanut Butter and Powdered Almond Butter are produced in the same facility, they have a strict allergen program to prevent cross-contamination.
Almond and peanut ingredients and products are stored in separate areas of the facility and produced on dedicated production lines. That means if you have a peanut allergy, you can feel pretty confident in purchasing the PB2 product.
4. Tru-Nut Powdered Almond Butter
The Tru-Nut powdered almond butter is loaded with plant protein and all-natural ingredients.
It has 85% less fat than traditional almond powder and 5 grams of plant protein per serving. It is also certified kosher, vegan, gluten-free, and non-GMO.
It is also made with almonds grown in California. The first ingredient is almonds, but it does contain some sugar and salt as well.
That means it won’t be suitable if you’re looking for unsweetened powdered almond butter.
Based on the information, it looks like the almonds aren’t roasted or blanched, but purely raw.
That means they will have a milder flavor and the skins of the almonds are likely included in the product since blanching is the process that removes the skins.
This brand is produced in a facility that also processes peanuts, but the company does state that they use GMP procedures to ensure a full clean is completed after each item is made.
If you’re really concerned about cross-contamination, I may go with the Barney Butter to be safe.
5. PB&Me Powdered Almond Butter – Just Nuts Variation
This powdered almond butter from PB&Me is perfect for folks who want pure almond powder with no added salt, sugar, or preservatives.
The only ingredient on the label is almonds. It doesn’t say that they are roasted or blanched, so it is likely they are purely raw, with the skins on.
The flavor is likely milder than a roasted powdered almond butter, but that makes it versatile to use in almost any way you like.
It is processed in a facility that also processes peanuts and other tree nuts, so it isn’t the best option for folks who have severe peanut/tree nut allergies.
While it doesn’t indicate how much less fat there is per serving, every 2 tablespoons contains 50 calories, 2 grams of fat, 3 grams of carbohydrates (including 2 grams of fiber for a net carb of 1 gram), and 5 grams of protein.
If you tend to use a lot of powdered almond butter, then this choice is perfect for you since it is a bulk bag of 2 pounds.
6. Octonuts Almond Protein Powder
While the Octonuts brand calls their product a protein powder instead of a powdered almond butter, that’s mostly just marketing.
The product is the same as the others on this list, so I wanted to include it as another delicious option.
This product is made from blanched California almonds, so the skins have been removed and the flavor will be relatively mild.
The only ingredient is almonds, so it is perfect for folks who are looking for a basic, unflavored powdered almond butter to keep in their pantry.
The Octonuts brand is gluten-free, grain-free, dairy-free, paleo and vegan certified, plant-based certified, and non-GMO verified.
And their facilities are grain, dairy, egg, soy, corn, and peanut-free, which makes it a great choice for folks with food allergies. They do process other tree nuts though.
Every 35 gram serving contains 3.5 grams of fat, 12 grams of carbohydrates (including 4 grams of fiber for 8 net grams of carbs), and 14 grams of protein.
Best Flavored Powdered Almond Butters

7. Barney Butter Chocolate Powdered Almond Butter
You might recognize this brand from above! Barney Butter not only makes a great unflavored powdered almond butter, but they also make a delicious chocolate version as well.
The first ingredient is blanched almonds and it contains sugar, tapioca, cocoa powder, and sea salt.
Each serving has 93% less fat than a regular serving of almond butter and the almonds are grown right in California.
The chocolate flavor is perfect for folks who are looking for a little indulgence and some reviews say it tastes great stirred into coffee, so it is definitely worth trying if you like chocolate.
8. Octonuts Chocolate Almond Protein Powder
The Octonuts brand is the second brand on the list to produce their powdered almond butter in a certified peanut-free facility.
The chocolate version is a decadent treat that is perfect for the chocolate lover in your life.
It’s made with blanched almonds, organic coconut sugar, cocoa powder, sunflower lecithin powder, and natural flavors, so it’s not quite as pure as other powdered almond butters on the list. But it does taste great!
Each 35-gram serving contains 2.5 grams of fat, 16 grams of carbohydrates (including 6 grams of fiber for a net carb of 10 grams), and 13 grams of protein.
So, it’s a great choice if you’re looking for a lower-fat alternative to almond butter that’s loaded with protein and fiber.
9. Octonuts Vanilla Almond Protein Powder
Finally, the last product on our list (not because it’s the worst, just because someone has to be last), is the Vanilla flavored powdered almond butter from Octonuts.
