How to Store Mulberries?

Fresh mulberries are best eaten right away. If you want to store them, you should keep them in the refrigerator, unwashed, and in a covered container. The berries will stay fresh for up to three days in the fridge.

If you have a lot of mulberries, freeze them to preserve their flavor. Mulberries will keep their color if they are frozen within 24 hours after they are picked off the tree. 

To freeze mulberries, wash them thoroughly under cold running water and pat them dry with a clean towel. Spread them on cookie sheets lined with parchment paper and freeze until solid (about 1 hour). 

Transfer the frozen berries into resealable plastic bags and store them in the freezer for up to 6 months.

Mulberry jam is a great way to enjoy mulberries and keep them for longer. Mulberries can be cooked with other fruits, such as strawberries and raspberries, for a delicious jam. 

The jam can be made by combining one cup of sugar with two cups of fresh mulberries and boiling them together until the sugar dissolves into the fruit juices.
