What Makes An Expensive Blender Worth The Cost?
When it comes to choosing the best expensive blender to take your smoothies, soups, sauces, and dips to the next level, there are some things to look out for.
Check out the following Buyer’s Guide to help you pick the best expensive blender for your needs and budget.
1. Pre-Programmed Settings
When you’re paying top dollar for a blender, it’s helpful if it comes with some pre-programmed settings so that you can buzz your smoothies, sauces, and soups for the proper amount of time to ensure smooth results.
Many of the most expensive blenders will have anything from 3-11 of these settings that you can choose from for everything from crushing ice to making the perfect smoothie to blending hot soup.
2. Variable Speed Control And Pulse Options
While you want your expensive blender to include some pre-programmed settings, it’s also important that you are able to adjust the speed and pulse your food if needed. That’s why the most expensive blenders offer variable speed control and pulse options.
These options are great if you do a lot of custom cooking or have different texture preferences that you want to get just right. It’s easy to control how fast, how long, and how high the speed of your blender is with these options.
3. Hardened Stainless-Steel Blades
These types of blades are designed to break down the hardest and toughest ingredients so that there is almost nothing you can’t throw in your expensive blender.
They are also designed to last long term without needing to be sharpened, so it’s a great investment.
4. BPA-Free Containers
Many companies are aware of the toxic effect of BPA and know that consumers are looking to purchase plastic products that are free of this chemical.
Many of the most expensive blenders now come with BPA free containers so you can blend with peace of mind.
5. Sound Shield
Some professional level blenders will have a sound shield or enclosure that you can lower over the container as you blend. This option is great for folks who are blending early in the morning and don’t want to wake up the rest of the family.
It’s also great for folks who may have auditory sensory issues or who live with folks who have them.
There are two blenders on this list that include one of these sound enclosures. One expensive and one super luxe, so you can choose one that fits your budget.
5. Venting Lid
If you plan on blending hot soups or drinks in your expensive blender then you will want to look for a venting lid.
These lids allow steam to escape as you blend so you don’t end up with a hot explosion of soup or hot chocolate all over yourself.
You don’t want to blend hot items in a non-venting blender or you could end up with burns and a huge mess in your kitchen. So if this is on your list of items you want your blender to do for you, make sure it has a venting mechanism.
6. Wireless Connectivity
Now not every blender is going to have this option, but if you’re someone who wants to take the guesswork out of blending, then look for Smart Blenders with wireless connectivity.
These blenders can sense the size of the container you’ve chosen and automatically adjust the program settings and maximum blending times accordingly so that you get the perfect result every single time.

1. OMMO Professional Countertop Blender

This model from OMMO is a great introduction to the world of high quality, high speed, high power blending.
It has many of the functions listed above such as 7 preset functions as well as variable speed and pulse options.
It has a powerful motor & hardened 6 blades, which can handle the toughest ingredients. It also includes overheat protection, strong heat dissipation, and smooth ventilation for hot foods.
The blender cup is BPA-free and comes in a 64oz size, which is perfect for single or household usage. This is an awesome option for a higher quality blender that isn’t too far out of the average shopper’s price range.
2. NutriBullet Blender Combo

This blender from the well-known Nutribullet isn’t quite as powerful as the OMMO blender, but it does come with a couple of extra individual sized smoothie cups in addition to the large blender container, all of which are BPA-free.
The blades aren’t necessarily hardened steel, but they’re still pretty powerful and a good option for folks who want a higher quality blender that isn’t too far up the expensive scale. It has a venting lid so that you can blend hot or cold items.
This model doesn’t have preset functions, but it does have three precision speeds you can choose from, plus the option for variable speed and pulsing, so it should do pretty well with most things you want to blend.
If you’re looking to invest in a high-quality blender that will last a lifetime, then this Nutribullet system is a great choice.
3. Ninja Mega Kitchen System Blender/Food Processor

Full disclosure: I had a Ninja Professional Blender for many years and absolutely loved it.
While it is still up there are one of the most expensive blenders, for the price point, you actually get quite high function and quality.
This one in particular comes with all the bells and whistles you can think of. Not only does it have a large blending container, it comes with two individual smoothie blender cups AND a small food processor attachment, so you’re getting several gadgets in one.
I am obsessed with the stacked blades of the Ninja blender models because they’re really great at grabbing ingredients and blending them smoothly and quickly.
I have a mini food processor from them that is about 8 years old and still works better than most things in my kitchen.
All 4 functions of this model – blend, mix, crush and single-serve – utilize 1500 watts of performance power to truly customize your blending experience. While it doesn’t have pre-programmed options, it does give you choices for these settings. You can also pulse or choose your own speed.
The containers don’t say anything about being BPA-free, so that is something to consider if it is important to you. It also doesn’t have a venting lid, so if you want to blend hot things (the only reason I upgraded), this isn’t the best choice for you.
4. Jiawanshun Commercial Smoothie Blenders

This expensive blender from Jiawanshun is the first option that comes with a sound enclosure to keep things a little quieter as you blend, crush, and pulverize your way to delicious snacks.
It has a special sound insulation device – the sound insulation cover and silicone base under the container minimizes the noise generated when the machine is running.
This model has 8 levels of speed that can be adjusted and you can select the appropriate stirring speed according to different foods. The blade doesn’t say that it is hardened steel, but it is made from food grade carbon steel.
You can also choose from 5 different preset functions for foam, milkshakes, smoothie, grains, and fruit. The container isn’t BPA-free, but the 1800W is nice and powerful for the amount that you’re spending.
5. Calphalon Activesense Blender With Blend-N-Go Cup

Calphalon’s model is a little more expensive and not quite as powerful as some other blenders that come before it, with only 1200W.
It does come with a large blending container plus a smaller (24oz) smoothie cup, so it’s great if you do a lot of small smoothies.
They don’t state whether or not the lid vents, so this is perhaps not the best choice if you want to use a blender for hot foods.
However, it does have some great little functions like 5 food settings for smoothies, salsa, milkshakes, frozen drinks, and juice.
There is also an add liquid indicator that notifies you when more liquid is needed to achieve desired results. There are variable speed and pulse options and a few presets for low, medium, and high speeds and you can indicate the thickness of the items that you’re trying to blend.
Calphalon tends to make high quality products, so it is likely a good investment.
6. Blendtec Classic Blender Bundle

We’re now getting to the one of the two titans of the most expensive blender world: Blendtec.
I’ve used both Blendtec and Vitamix and the differences are pretty negligible, so it really comes down to design.
This model is their basic, classic option that comes with the larger BPA-free blending container, a smaller container (96 oz), and a great little spoonula to help you scrape out every last bit from the jar.
It has a patented blade that is 80% thicker than other models. It is a stainless-steel forged blade with wings for amazingly smooth blends (10x stronger than other blender blades), that is actually blunt to prevent cuts.
The motor is 1570W and it has a venting lid, so you can use it with hot foods.
7. Blendtec Professional 800 Blender
Check The Current Price On Amazon
This blender is hands-down the most expensive model on the list because it combines the incredible quality of the Blendtec blades with a sealed sound enclosure to keep things quiet in the kitchen as you blend away like a pro.
It has 6 preprogrammed blend cycles and a pulse option for just about any recipe.
Use specific cycles to make anything from smoothies and fresh whole juice to cappuccinos, soups, margaritas, bread dough, sauces, dressings, and much more.
The containers are BPA-free and it comes with a 10-year warranty, which is great considering the price tag.
It runs at 11 speeds and has a touch slider that offers ultimate precision speed control, by simply sliding finger up and down the control panel. One-touch interface for easy cleaning and quick blending, with an LCD countdown timer for consistent blending results every time.
8. Vitamix Ascent Series Smart Blender

Again, full disclosure: I own a Vitamix now and I use it at least once or twice every day (and have for the past 3 years) without a single problem.
It’s a venting blender, so it’s perfect for blending hot foods or drinks. This model is also the only one with a smart sensor that can tell what size container you’re using.
It comes with 3 program settings for smoothies, hot soup, and frozen desserts, plus variable speed and pulse options for more customized blending.
A built-in digital timer removes the guesswork with recipes you process manually, helping you achieve the perfect texture every time.
The containers don’t seem to be BPA-free, but they do have hardened steel blades for long-term blending satisfaction.
9. Vitamix Professional Series 750 Blender
Check The Current Price On Amazon
This model is closest to the one I have and even though it doesn’t have the smart sensor, I find it works perfectly every time.
It has 5 pre-programmed settings that ensure simple cleaning, walk-away convenience, and consistent results for smoothies, frozen desserts, soups, and purées.
Like other Vitamix models, the aircraft-grade stainless steel blades are designed to handle the toughest ingredients, so from the first blend to the last, you get the same quality results.
Having used mine almost daily for 3 years, I can assure you it works just as well as the first day I bought it.
It has variable speed and pulse options for customizing your blends, but the container doesn’t seem to be BPA-free. That said, they have come out with a stainless steel container, which is great if you do a lot of hot foods. It also has a venting lid on all containers.
