Why do I love sauces so much? Maybe because I am a grilling addict and believe that sauces elevate any piece of meat or poultry, or just maybe because there’s a perfect sauce for every occasion.

Sriracha sauce is well known across the world and has many uses, from adding it to other sauces, to stir-fries, noodles, grilled foods, and so much more.

Sriracha is a spicy sauce made from a paste of chili peppers, vinegar, garlic, and salt. The sauce itself has a great flavor, but when you want something new or just want to elevate your sriracha, you should try this honey sriracha sauce.

This sauce is sweet and spicy and is perfect for grilled chicken – wings, legs, or other cuts, it doesn’t matter what you put it on – it’s delicious any way you slice it!

What’s So Great About This Sauce?

I love sauces and especially those that are customizable. This Honey Sriracha sauce can be customized to meet your desired levels of spiciness, so you will never end up with a sauce that is too spicy or unpleasant to eat.

This sauce is perfect for so many dishes, and you can even use it for the volcano chicken I published earlier for an extra kick of spice.

The entire sauce comes together in only a few minutes and one sauce pot. You can use the sauce immediately or store it in a fridge.

Which Honey To Choose

Honey alone has been a traditional dipping sauce and spread for centuries, however, honey can also be an integral part of so many sauces.

Honey is a perfect ingredient  – it can be used as an emulsifier in sauces and dips, and thanks to its consistency, it provides ideal properties for glazing some types of meat.

In general, honey is sweet and sticky, but different types have different flavors. Here are some that will work great with Sriracha:

  • Clover honey – This honey has a pleasant mild taste and flowery aroma, it will sweeten but not dominate your recipe. If you are looking for well balanced honey Sriracha sauce, use clover honey.
  • Wildflower honey – This type of honey can vary widely depending on what flowers the bees were drawing the nectar from. This type of honey is great for honey-Sriracha sauce, but also honey-mustard sauce.
  • Alfalfa honey – This is the honey made from collected alfalfa blossoms. The honey has a light taste with mildly sweet undertones.

Besides these, you can use Bakers Special Honey. This honey has an amber color and rich flavor, and is often used in BBQ sauces.

The Ingredients

The honey Sriracha sauce is made with simple ingredients. You can make this sauce in a few minutes with ingredients you probably already have.

  • Butter – The butter gives rich butter flavor. Sauce without it will not be the same, so make sure to use it.
  • Sriracha – This is the key ingredient here. Use less or more, depending on how spicy you would like your sauce to be.
  • Honey -Honey mellows out the spiciness and you can use as little or as much you like.
  • Lime juice – Lime juice is here to brighten up the sauce. Without lime, the sauce would not be the same and would feel too heavy.
  • Soy sauce – This one is optional. It will give some extra umami and salty flavor.

How To Serve Honey Sriracha Sauce

This sauce can be used in stir-fry dishes, on grilled meat, or as a dipping sauce.

This sauce pairs the best when:

  • Brushed over grilled chicken
  • Used to baste chicken during baking
  • Used as a marinade for chicken
  • Used as a dipping sauce for chicken fingers
  • Tossed with cooked chicken wings
