Peach cobbler egg rolls are a delicious twist on one of our favorite desserts. These rolls are filled with sweet peaches and fried to perfection.

They are a perfect treat for family gatherings and you will just love preparing them, as they come together so fast and easy!

These peach cobbler rolls are crunchy on the outside with the most summery, fruity filling inside. If you want this dessert during the wintertime, you can make it with either peach filling or canned peaches.

Choosing The Peaches

As with other fruits, there are a variety of peaches you can buy, but here are my favorites:

  • Elberta peaches – The type of peaches we see the most in our stores. They are great in any combination, fresh or cooked. This peach is sweet and juicy and will not disappoint you.
  • Donut peaches – This is the sweetest type of peach. This heirloom variety looks like a typical peach that has been smashed.
  • Redhaven, Glohaven, Cresthaven – These peaches are the best peaches for baking. Their pit pops out easily and you will be able to have nice and clean slices where presentation is needed. Also, they are resistant to browning.

Canned Peaches Vs. Fresh Peaches Vs. Frozen Peaches

Depending on where you live, the peaches may not be available all year round. In such a case, you have options for canned or frozen peaches. Still, how do they compare to fresh peaches?

Fresh peaches are the best to use when you have them. They have the most intense flavor, color, and texture.

Frozen peaches are a good alternative to fresh peaches. They retain a lot of their nutrient value, do not have added sugar, and are generally free of additives and preservatives.

The frozen peaches are freshly picked in the peak of their ripeness. If you have your own, then these are the best option among frozen peaches.

Canned peaches are often packed in heavy syrup and develop and sticky, sweet taste. If you can find canned peaches packed in water or light fruit syrup, then they would be a better option over classic canned peaches.

Sometimes when I use canned peaches I give them a gentle rinse underwater, just to wash out that extra sugar. This also reduces their flavor a bit, but the less sugar the better.

How To Peel The Peaches

Peeled peaches are something that is used in a peach cobbler. The peach skin is very gentle, but it tends to curl up during baking, and sometimes it does not look appealing at all.

Also, some picky eaters despise the skin on peaches, so for their sake, here is how to peel peaches:

  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. The pot should be big enough to fit several peaches at a time.
  2. Reduce heat and simmer peaches for 30 seconds.
  3. Prepare an ice bath; fill the bowl with cold water and add ice cubes.
  4. Remove your peaches from the simmering water and submerge in the ice bath.
  5. Once the peaches are cooled, peel the skin off. The peach skin is very easy to pull away. Use a small knife to create a slit to get it started.

Serving Peach Cobbler Rolls

I served these just dusted with powdered sugar. If you want to elevate your rolls, you can serve them with vanilla icing.

Just combine 1 cup confectioners sugar, 2 tbsp milk, and ½ tsp vanilla in a sauce pot. Stir for 1-2 minutes over medium heat or until well combined. Drizzle the vanilla icing over peach cobbler egg rolls.

You can also serve warm peach cobbler egg rolls with vanilla ice cream.

Can I Bake Them?

The peach cobbler rolls can be baked or fried. The fried peach cobbler rolls have a crispier outer shell, but the baked rolls are a healthier option, as you will get rid of calories that deep-frying adds to your rolls.

If you are frying your peach cobbler rolls, make sure you let them drain on paper towels.
